Behind The Podcast

Produced to make room for conversations that honor feminine strength.

Lo produces the Fmme Strng Pod as a space for honest, grounded conversations about strength as something lived, practiced, and reclaimed from the inside out.

Each series conveys ideas about empowerment, well-being, and mental health for women+, queer, and gender-expansive people. The vision is to deepen reflection, share useful tools, and help Fmme Strng build spaces where people can grow stronger on their own terms.

A 2027 Fmme Strng Pod Series

Fighter Stories

A series with room for truth.

A series celebrating the power of women+ fighters through candid, direct, emotionally grounded conversations about grit, dignity, and the deeply personal reasons why we fight.

Struck by the absence of major women+ voices in major combat sports podcasts, and desiring more content about the why behind women+ fighter journeys, Lo set out to produce a limited series interviewing women+ on why they fight.

The Why Beneath The Fight

Not just what happened in the ring. Why someone walked into the gym.

Fighter Stories is not a fight-recap show, a promotional desk, or a step-by-step instructional podcast. It is an intimate look at why women fight and what we gain in the process.

What first brings someone into the gym? What makes them return after fear, injury, loss, exclusion, or doubt? What does fighting change about dignity, self-worth, anger, tenderness, discipline, autonomy, and belonging?

These conversations will make room for the gritty, truthful, and deeply personal stories behind someone’s public face.

A History Still Being Written

Progress exists because women+ fighters refuse the limits around them.

Women’s boxing made its Olympic debut at London 2012. Fighters including Katie Taylor and Caroline Dubois have described disguising themselves as boys when they were young so they could access boxing spaces that excluded girls.

Earlier path-makers in women’s boxing, including Christy Martin and Laila Ali, fought for attention in a sport that routinely minimized women and helped widen what future generations could imagine.

Today, major stages involving Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, including events promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, and the visibility of MMA athletes including Angela Hill, Zhang Weili, Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg, Dakota Ditcheva, Mackenzie Dern, and Valentina Shevchenko reflect growing recognition of women’s potential across combat sports.

Women are also taking up tremendous space in Muay Thai, with athletes like Stamp Fairtex, Marie Ruumet, Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu, and Desiree Wodicker changing the narrative about who belongs in the sport.

That growth was created by generations of fighters who persisted before the resources, audiences, and respect had caught up. Fighter Stories will explore that transformation across boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and the wider fight community.
